I was looking for ways to cook taco shells without having to fry them in oil. The oil gets messy and splatters all over the stove. Oil fried taco shells are the best and you can use heart healthy corn oil. During my search I was surprised to find out tacos were actually an Aztec indian food. Tacos and many other so called mexican dishes are not mexican at all. The Aztec indians developed these meals over a 10,000 year period only to have the spanish come along and falsely claim the Aztec indian meals as their own after the spanish killed off the meso american indians.
Seriously! I've lived my life always under the thought that Tacos were a spanish food that was brought over to mexico from spain or developed in mexico afterward. Yeah!, reality just hit me when I found out Tacos were an "Aztec Indian (Nahuati)" food and the spanish were being given false credit by society for inventing this and other food types.

I know what the indians in the now U.S. were eating in the past which was some early forms of the now chili meal, buffalo, nuts and cake patties so myself and many others have always been under the impression that the "Mesoamerica" indians ate basically the same types of foods. The twist happened throughout time and in reality the spanish ate pigs, chickens, nuts, veggies, cake patties and the "Mesoamerica" indians created all the great food meals that the mexicans are claiming as their own.
